End-of-service gratuity calculator

Leaving your job, or thinking about it? Enter your salary and how long you worked, and we'll estimate your end-of-service gratuity under UAE or Saudi labour law 💼

Basic salary only, without housing or transport allowance.

How is gratuity calculated in the UAE?

Under Article 51 of the UAE Labour Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021), you get 21 days of basic salary for each of your first 5 years and 30 days for each year after that. Parts of a year count proportionally.

You need at least one full year of service. The amount is the same whether you resign or your employer ends the job, and the total can't be more than 2 years' salary. This calculator takes one day's pay as basic salary ÷ 30.

How is gratuity calculated in Saudi Arabia?

Under Article 84 of the Saudi Labour Law, you get half a month's salary for each of your first 5 years and a full month's salary for each year after that, based on your last salary including allowances. Parts of a year count proportionally.

Under Article 85, if you resign: under 2 years you get nothing, 2 to 5 years one third, more than 5 and less than 10 years two thirds, and 10 years or more the full amount.

Please note

This calculator gives an estimate only and is not legal advice. It doesn't cover special cases, such as workers in free zones (like DIFC) or situations where the full gratuity is paid even after resigning.
